Consultant in Gastroenterology

Permanent - 10 Sessions
The appointee will join a team of 6 existing Consultant Gastroenterology colleagues and will also participate in an ‘out of hours’ GI Bleed Service. There is no acute general medical on-call commitment. There will be support from existing Consultant colleagues and opportunities to develop areas of specialist interest, including through ongoing post-CCT in-house training and mentorship from experienced Consultant colleagues (inclusive as part of SPA).
The endoscopy department has 5 endoscopy rooms performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including EUS and ERCP. They are the administrative site for delivering bowel cancer screening as well as bowel scope for the region. Depending on sub-specialist expertise there are exciting opportunities to expand current EUS services (UGI and HPB- diagnostic and interventional) as well as liver services.
Research and teaching interests are actively supported.
- Applicants should possess full GMC registration and be registered on the Specialist Register or within 6 months.
- You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
- This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
